Swiss Life Asset Managers is an important pillar of the Swiss Life Group. We support our customers in achieving their long-term financial objectives, thus laying the groundwork for them to make solid, long-term plans – in self-determination and with financial confidence.
In November 2018, Swiss Life revealed its new Group-wide programme, "Swiss Life 2021". As part of this programme, Swiss Life Asset Managers formulated its strategy for the next three years.
Our aim in asset management is always to protect the funds entrusted to us and to increase their earnings potential. This is our motivation and conviction.
We have over 160 years of successful experience in risk management. Our main purpose is to support our customers in achieving their long-term financial objectives. Customers entrust their assets to us. We take this responsibility seriously.
Thinking long-term is part of our DNA. In the future we will continue to anchor aspects of sustainability in our activities. As experienced risk managers, we know the significance of responsible and long-term investment decisions.
Interview with our Group CIO
Swiss Life enables people to lead a self-determined life. As an asset manager for securities and real estate investments, we advocate solutions that combine independence, responsibility and financial confidence. Stefan Mächler, Chief Investment Officer of the Swiss Life Group, explains what that means.
An overview of the overarching goals of our three business areas up to 2021:
Proprietary Insurance Asset Management (PAM)
Investment business for our own insurance companies
PAM is where we come from and a fundamental part of the solid foundation of our insurance business. Our investment strategy has a risk-based focus. Its main objective is to ensure continuing stable and long-term investment results, to maintain the interest margin and to protect the solvency of our insurance business.
Third-Party Asset Management (TPAM)
Investment business for third-party clients
We want to expand our assets under management for third-party business to CHF 100 billion by 2021. We will achieve this by broadening our distribution channels in the area of individual and group pensions business and applying our detailed investment knowledge. We will also continuously expand and consolidate our product and service range and work consistently on our investment performance.
In Real Estate we aim to continue to uphold our position as leading pan-European real estate investor. We also give our customers and partners unique access to the European real estate market – not only with products for our European core markets of Switzerland, Germany, France and the United Kingdom, but also with a range of new pan-European real estate funds.
