Personal data

Personal data are information concerning your person. This includes details such as your name, address, postal address, telephone number etc. Information that cannot be directly related to your actual identity (such as amount of time spent on the website or number of users of the website) does not count as personal data. Personal data are only collected at Swiss Life Asset Managers if you proactively authorise us to do so, for instance when registering for personalised services. Your details entered on the form are only stored for the intended purpose. The forwarding of your data to third parties outside the Swiss Life Group and its contractual partners is ruled out unless permitted or required by statutory regulations.

Processing personal data

We collect and make use of your personal data that we have received through the use of our Internet services only within the legally permissible framework and only for the purpose for which you have made them available to us (e.g. request for information material, entry of comments, newsletter orders).

The data entered are subject to far-reaching security measures intended to prevent unauthorised access, inhibit inappropriate use and protect the data against damage or loss. Data transmission via the Internet takes place using SSL/TSL encryption. Standard browsers support the SSL/TLS procedure. You can tell from the closed representation of the padlock symbol and “https://” in the address bar of your browser whether an individual page of our website is transmitted in encrypted form.

If you decide to enter personal details such as your name, address, telephone number or e-mail address via the contact form or requests for product information etc., you consent to our collecting, processing and using the data made available to us for the envisaged purpose such as processing your request or newsletter order. If, for example, you request information about products or services, we will use your data to provide you with the corresponding information. It may be necessary for this purpose for us to pass on your data to the applicable company belonging to the Swiss Life Group. You can revoke your consent at any time with future effect.

Anonymous data collection

You can generally visit the non-personalised websites of Swiss Life Asset Managers without letting us know who you are. Your visit to Swiss Life web pages is recorded.

If you wish to view our website, we collect the following data that we require for technical purposes in order to display our website to you and guarantee the requisite stability and security (the legal basis is Art. 6, cl. 1, p. 1, lit. f GDPR):

the IP address currently used by your computer, name of the retrieved site, date and time of retrieval, volume of data transmitted, notification of whether retrieval was successful, description of type of web browser used, operating system used, Internet browser used, operating system, number of visits, average time spent on site, sites retrieved.

This information is analysed for statistical purposes while you as an individual user remain anonymous. No personal user profiles can be gained from these data. The information stored is used to determine the attractiveness of the Swiss Life web pages and enhance their content.

Your data protection rights

You can assert your data protection rights towards us under certain conditions:

  • You are entitled to receive information from us about your data stored with us in accordance with the provisions of Art. 15 GDPR.
  • At your request we will correct the data stored about you in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR if the latter are incorrect or erroneous.
  • If you wish, we will delete your data in accordance with the principles of Art. 17 GDPR unless prevented from doing so by other statutory regulations (e.g. statutory retention obligations) or an overriding interest on our part (e.g. for the defence of our rights and claims).
  • Subject to the requirements of Art. 18 GDPR, you can request us to restrict the processing of your data.
  • You can also register an objection to the processing of your data in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR requiring us to cease processing your data. However, this right of objection only applies if very special circumstances pertain with regard to your personal situation and the rights of our Group may obstruct your right of objection.
  • You are also entitled to receive your data subject to the provisions of Art. 20 GDPR in a structured, conventional and machine-readable format or to transmit them to third parties.
  • You are furthermore entitled to revoke consent granted to us for the processing of personal data at any time with future effect (see section 2.3).
  • You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data by us (Art. 77 GDPR). However, we recommend always initially addressing such complaints to us.

The aforementioned rights can be denied or restricted in the event of overriding interests, rights and freedoms of third parties or if the processing serves the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims of Swiss Life Asset Managers.

Inquiries concerning the processing of personal data and the exercise of your rights should wherever possible be addressed in writing to the applicable local data protection officers in the countries.

Web analysis

Swiss Life Asset Managers uses analysis tools from third parties such as Adobe Analytics (hereinafter generically referred to as “analysis service providers”) to analyse the use of its websites. Swiss Life Asset Managers accepts no responsibility or liability for any data processing by the providers of these tools.

Using Adobe Analytics

Adobe Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited, 4-6 Riverwalk, Citywest Business Campus, Dublin 24, Ireland (“Adobe”) is used on this website. In its analyses Adobe Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, text files saved on your computer that enable them to analyse your use of the website. If the information generated by the cookie about use of the website is transmitted to an Adobe server, the settings ensure that the IP address is anonymised prior to geolocalisation and replaced by a generic IP address prior to saving.

Adobe uses this information on behalf of the operator of this website to analyse use of the website by the users, to compile reports about website activities and to provide other services to the website operator in connection with use of the website and internet. The IP address transmitted from your browser by Adobe Analytics is not merged with other data of Adobe.

You can also prevent data generated by the cookie with regard to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) being registered with Adobe and Adobe’s processing of such data by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at this link: http://www.adobe.com/de/privacy/opt-out.html

Using Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics also makes use of cookies. The information generated by the Google cookie about your use of this website (including your IP address) is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google uses this information to analyse your use of the website for us, to compile reports about website activities for us and to provide other services in connection with use of the website and internet.

Google may also make this information available to third parties if required to do so by law or if third parties are commissioned by Google to process such data. Under no circumstances will Google combine your IP address with other Google data. By using this website you declare your consent to the processing of data collected about you by Google in the manner described above and for the aforementioned purpose.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact that our website uses Google Analytics with the “_anonymizeIp()” extension in order to enhance data protection. In this case your IP address is initially shortened by Google within the member states of the European Union and in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The full IP address is only transmitted to a Google server in the USA before being shortened there in exceptional cases. This serves to exclude any direct personal references in the analysis of the use of our website.

You can reject the placing of Google Analytics cookies by extending your browser. This way you can make use of your right to object to the collection, processing and use of data by Google Analytics with future effect. To do this you can install the deactivation add-on for browsers of Google Analytics by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at this link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de. This way you will prevent Google Analytics from storing information about your website visits.

When processing personal data, Google has undertaken to comply with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework published by the US Department of Commerce and the Swiss-US Privacy Shield Framework concerning the collection, use and storage of personal data from EU member states and/or Switzerland. Google has declared by means of certification that it observes the Privacy-Shield principles.

Social media buttons

Functions (plugins) of third-party providers and social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, Xing, Facebook, Google+) are integrated into websites of Swiss Life Asset Managers. These plugins allow the user to share content on the aforementioned social networks. The buttons are deactivated by default when retrieving the website. This means that no personal data can be sent to the applicable third-party providers without the assistance of the user. After the user has activated the button, the plugins automatically convey data, including personal data, to the corresponding third-party provider. If while visiting the website the user is simultaneously logged into the network of the applicable third-party provider, the latter can assign the visit to the network account of the user. Swiss Life Asset Managers has no influence on this. The data protection notices of the applicable social networks set out the purpose and scope of this data collection and the further processing and use of personal data. Users are also provided there with information about their rights and configuration options concerning the protection of privacy.
