Thierry Van Rossum holds a master's degree in Germanic philology from the Université
Catholique de Louvain in Belgium and a postgraduate degree in management and
finance from Solvay Brussels School. He worked as a teacher in Belgium for more than
five years, teaching among other things statistics, financial mathematics and accounting.
In 1993 he joined Coopers & Lybrand as an auditor, and two years later, in 1995, began his professional career at Swiss Life Belgium.

He worked there for 13 years in a variety of leading positions, finally as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), before moving to Swiss Life France as Head of Corporate Development, and running an internal transformation and performance programme there from 2008 to 2011. At the same time, in 2009 Thierry Van Rossum was appointed to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Since 2011 he has been Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Swiss Life France, and thus
responsible for the proprietary asset management of Swiss Life France. From 2015 to the end of 2016, he was CEO Third-Party Asset Management at Swiss Life Asset Managers, in charge of the whole third-party asset management business, be it in Switzerland, France and Germany.

Thierry Van Rossum has also been a member of the Executive Committee of Swiss Life Asset Managers since 2011 and, since 2008, of Swiss Life France.
